About us

The owners of Camping De Meulinge are Emmy Vermeulen, Sasja Vermeulen, and Marleen Vermeulen. They are supported by a small but very dedicated team!

Emmy

On the campsite, Emmy is the first point of contact. She manages most daily tasks from the reception.

Not long ago, Emmy studied Technical Business Administration in Eindhoven, so she has a technical mindset and strong logistical insight. However, she didn’t see herself working permanently in the technical and logistics world and has now turned to campsite life! Like Marleen and Sasja, she spent years helping at the family business Camping De Pekelinge, so she’s very experienced.

Emmy is quite sporty and enjoys cycling and padel. Since 2025, she has lived in Breskens and is already well integrated into Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.

Sasja

Sasja is Emmy’s older sister. She usually works one day a week at the reception. Behind the scenes, she also takes on various tasks from home. Sasja also works part-time at the Coastal Tourism Knowledge Centre in Vlissingen and is involved in research on the tourism sector in Zeeland.

Sasja studied Business Economics and is therefore good with numbers. Like Emmy, she has also helped at the family business Camping De Pekelinge and brings valuable experience.

Sasja is sporty as well; she plays hockey, padel, and practices boxing. In addition, she has a busy social life. Sasja is the kind of person who is rarely at home and always seems to run out of time.

Marleen

A long time ago, Marleen studied Psychology and Communication Sciences. But in 2006 she bought Camping De Meulinge (then still called Camping International). Luckily, she has received support since 2024, as her nieces Sasja and Emmy have been involved in the business as entrepreneurs since January 1, 2024. Marleen is therefore the aunt of Sasja and Emmy.

On her days off, she enjoys cycling, good food, and drinks along the coast. During the winter months, Marleen often takes long trips, during which she also loves exploring the underwater world while scuba diving.

Marleen is involved as a volunteer in various organizations around Nieuwvliet.

Jordy

We couldn’t do without Jordy!

Jordy is our manager and the rock on the campsite. He takes care of general maintenance, fixes technical issues, and acts as the technical project manager for new developments on the site.

Although he seems very calm, Jordy is quite a daredevil; in his free time he enjoys techno parties and 4x4 driving.

Greetje

Our dear Greetje is an indispensable part of Camping De Meulinge; she has been working here for over 35 years!

Over the years, Greetje has done all sorts of jobs on the campsite: from reception to cleaning, from animation to animal care. Today, she still enjoys working in the bakery and coordinates the charity shop together with Yvonne.

Nico

We’re very happy with Nico, as he works partly at the reception and partly on the campsite. A flexible man, indeed. He especially enjoys the variety.

Nico lives just around the corner in Nieuwvliet and knows the town like the back of his hand. Nico is also Greetje’s son. So it’s very much a close-knit, everyone-knows-everyone environment here.

Yvonne

Yvonne is also part of the regular team. Just like Greetje, she enjoys baking the bread rolls for the bakery and also works in the charity shop.

Yvonne lives in Nieuwvliet with her husband Joop. By the way, Joop is also a much-appreciated team member, as he regularly bakes bread rolls for the bakery during the high season.

Marcin

Marcin, as a self-employed professional, has been responsible for cleaning on the campsite for years. This includes the sanitary cabins, rental chalets, and the general bathhouse.

Because he is self-employed, he also has other clients, such as other campsites in the region or private individuals. Marcin is always busy, even in the evenings he’s working on various tasks.

Patrycja

Patrycja has also been working on the campsite for years. She assists Marcin with cleaning and regularly bakes the bread rolls in the bakery.

Patrycja studied animal care, and we can always count on her whenever one of the animals in the petting farm needs special attention.

Jody en Claudia

The Pierewiet play farm is part of the campsite, but the daily operation is entirely outsourced to Jody & Claudia. They are their own bosses. The collaboration works wonderfully, and we feel like one team.

In addition to their biological son, Jody & Claudia have several foster children in their care and are always involved with children even on their days off. They volunteer for various organizations and at the local primary school.
